Research has shown that listening to music can influence your emotions and help reduce stress. When you listen to fast music, you feel alert and energized. Upbeat, happy songs can make you feel optimistic. However, slow songs can quiet your mind and relax your body. Music is an effective tool for relaxation and stress management.
In a study conducted by Mindlab International, certain songs were shown to reduce stress-related symptoms. The song, “Weightless” by Marconi Union, was specifically produced to help reduce stress and showed a 65 percent reduction in anxiety and a 35 percent reduction in “physiological resting rates”.
Stress awareness is so important in our busy lives. Take a moment for yourself and listen to your favorite song and de-stress.
